T5 Differences:

The 4 cyl trannies are plenty strong. Usually, the available gear ratios are what cause people to select a V8 tranny. Torque ratings are lower because of the higher torque multiplication of the 4 cylinder trannies, first gear.
The 4 cyl T-5 transmission has an input shaft that is .59" in diameter, the 5.0 one is .668".
To install a V8 tranny in a 4 cyl car, you have to grind down the input shaft to the diameter of the 4 cyl pilot bearing.
Rapido sells a bushing that allows it to fit without modification. I would never use this part. The factory put a roller bearing in there for a reason.
I had this grinding action done to install a 1990 Mustang GT T-5 in my 84 SVO.
The input shaft comes out REALLY easy, so don't worry about tranny disasembly etc.
Caution: In 94 the V8 input shafts got longer. I don't know if that would prevent using a new one.
