On 85.5-86 SVOs only: Located below the wiper motor there is a pressure switch that has; a grey 2 prong connector, a vacuum hose connection and is covered by a black rubber "condom" with a zip tie at the open end.
This is a pressure switch that activates a relay that bypasses a resistance wire in the fuel pump voltage feed, when you're in the boost.
IOW,
No boost = reduced voltage to the pump.
Boost over x amount = full voltage to the pump.
It can be problematic, and it's not necessary. You can jumper together it's two connections to get full voltage to the pump at all times. Make these connections securely, or you will be thumbing a ride home!
BTW, It's a fully adjustable, normally open, pressure switch, so get creative with other uses for it!
