First let me start off by saying thanks for having such an informative and detailed website. I have searched locally for tips and info on modifying my 2.3L turbo, and nobody had any clues. I was really shocked when I found your site and saw how much of a following there was for this motor.

Bryan Isenbart said:

THANKS FOR YOUR EXPERT ADVISE AND A VERY INFORMATIVE WEB SITE!

Mike Seluk said:

BTW-It's REALLY nice to see that someone actually UPDATES their site.

Aaron Loynes said:

Thank you for the advice on how to do the fuel injector job and for giving me the part numbers. I got my parts today and my car now runs again and I feel I owe a lot of thanks to you because i wouldn't have tried this job on my own if i hadn't talked to you about it when i did.

Once again... Thank you.

Scottie Tooley said;

I went thru your website today, and it is safe to say that I love it. So pat yourself on the back. ...
Your price on these injectors is just stupendious, on top of being a better product.

JP Lorain said:

Turbo Tek Toys is such a good resource. It suprises me it doesn't get mentioned more on the list. It just seems to make sense to buy from an enthusiast and owner.

Chris Harper said:

I am very grateful for the effort you put forth into this list that has helped me to learn and find the parts for my dearest pastime and future career (I'm a mechanical engineering major at KU.)  What a great world where someone can thank a man he never met for something that has helped him so much. Thanks again, i'm grateful.

Just wanted to let you know that I have been running my Merkur for about 2 months now, and am extremely happy with the performance from your cam.

Craig Hoffman said:

All I can say is THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!

This adjustable fuel pressure regulator has made all of the difference!  Finally after several years of trying to get it to run right, I enjoy driving my car! I don't know why, but with higher pressure, my car no longer knocks, and it runs great!

Jack Lockhart said:

You've got an awesome site, lots of info I haven't seen elsewhere, and it isn't geared only for selling parts.

Frank said:

you seem like a cool guy and like you know your stuff

Bruce Tandy said:

I found your website absolutely great in terms of ideas, info and parts.

G A Mulholland said:

Thanks for providing a very interesting and well organized site. Since i have 2 XR4Ti's I will be interested in some of your products.

Darell Adabahr said:

Hey guys ...... this is a dream come true... i have been searching the northeast for anyone with turbo 2.3 info. none found! now i found you!!!!!
I am very pleased!!!! great pages!!!

George DiGregorio said:

Damn Dave!, I have heard people mention your site but I didn't think there was this much stuff here. More than I can read at one time. It is very well organized and has a lot of good information on it. I have visited almost all of the 2.3 turbo sites and this is one of the best. Now I know where to come for parts. I get a mechanic's discount at my local dealer and they aren't even close!

Tom (TRW43) said:

By the way your web site is great and your info without the sales pitch is refreshing.

Henry Cruz said:

Thanks for all the info on the show!

Larry said:

Haven't seen your site for a while and I congratulate you on what a great job you have done.

Jonathan Peep said:

Dave,
Your web site is outstanding. Spent much a lot of time reading.

Michael Hymbaugh said: referring to this Tip:

Dave,
I read your short summary tonight that you have added. That is exactly the kind of info probably 90% of turbo Ford owners need to hear. I would say 100% of the newcomers. The text is pretty damn accurate.
~~
Just had to comment that it is amazing that you have to tell people about your page. I guess there are always a lot of new list members, but for people who complain about not enough 2.3 turbo parts vendors, there sure are a lot of them who don't seem to have taken the time to check out your great web site and all the products you offer.

Dave, 'just a note to thank you for hosting the TC list. I bought a Taurus SHO and sold my TC, so I'll be signing off the list. I'll post a longer TY to the list, but I wanted to thank you personally for all you do.

Thanks!
Barry

Wow, I finally found a true SVO expert.

My SVO whips Vettes and 5.0s. I wish I found you guys two years ago! Anyway as you see im pretty serious with this car and I am sure to be your next customer. Please reply. Thanks.

Chris Alexander said:

You've doing the SVO / Turbo 4 2.3L hobby a great service, unlike other's in the business. Hard to see how you have the time though, since I'm an IT sys admin also.

Vic said:

Hello, I am very pleased to have found your very informative site. It has answered many of my questions.

Mike said:

Thanks for the reply Dave. I was hoping you would reply.
~~
I want to trust your opinion over some of these other guys because you do the real testing, and not just seat of the pants. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Antonius Momac said:

Dave, as always, thank you for keeping up the good work.
~~
(which is another thing I like, you give us, your customers and friends factual backing and opions as per your experience, and I think that I speak for everybody when I say thank you for saving us money.)

Mike Seluk said:

Dave,
Excellent page! I come here a lot to find info. There is no better place to find honest and tested info for the 2.3.

Nate Kilmon said:

Hey Dave,
I just subscribed to the Turbo Coupe list yesterday and just wanted to say Thank You Greatly for providing this list for TC owners, etc. It's really hard sometimes finding info about TC's especially when it comes to customizing and upgrading.

Darrell Horton said:

I appreciate the time you take to answer my questions.

Kevin said:

I appreaciate the help you're giving me. Hopefully when I get this finished I can send you a picture of it....

Dave,
First, thanks for fixing my tach, much appreciated. Works great.

Dan Hamilton said:

Mr.Compton,
I can't tell you how sincerely pleased I was to find your web site, it was purely by accident, then even more to my surprise you have access to a turbo kit for my Ranger.

Joel Tamkin said:

Dave,
I was checking out your SVO web page. Looks good and lots of interesting info.

James Estrada said:

BTW, I enjoyed reading the dyno testing breakdown segment on your website.

Cory Erickson said:

I'm grateful that we turbo 2.3 enthusiasts have yet another dyno sheet to analyze (I think I can count all of the ones I've seen on one hand!),

Kenneth Greene said:

Dave,

First off I'd like to say GREAT WEBSITE! I've been looking for a "guido" for about a month now and have not been able to purchase one without the driveshaft itself. The cheapest I've heard is $200, used drive shaft and all, or $1000 from the Almighty Ford Service Dept. Anyways, you've got a great deal going here. It's nice to know that someone is actually trying to find the hard to get items, and for cheap at that! I'm hooked.

I am quite impressed with your website and the ideas and info  about the 2.3 turbo presented there. Thank you very much.

DeWayne said...

Hi Dave, great to find a site dedicated to the 2.3 Turbo Motor. I wish I had seen it several years ago when I started building mine.

I just received my copy of the EEC book (I had previously borrowed a friend's copy).  It is worth every penny, even if you're not going to do your own work. In a matter of less than an hour of reading, you'll know more about your engine electronics than most "professional" mechanics.   Just the fact that the information in the book will keep you from getting ripped off on repairs is worth more than the purchase price.  If you are intending to repair / modify you engine electronics, you'd be doing yourself a great disservice to attempt it without the EEC book.  Plus (to plug Dave a little), he got the book out to me remarkably fast!  I am in the process of swapping an '86 TC engine and electronics into my '86 Mustang LX and I wouldn't even attempt it without the information this book provides (and you'll learn what all the acronyms mean, too!).

I went to the last races of the year in Ohio at dragway 42. Here's the best run at about 17psi on 205/60R15 radials...

1/4 mile- 14.41 sec @ 96.14 mph
1/8 mile- 9.24 sec @ 74.65 mph
330 ft- 5.98 sec
60 ft- 2.12 sec
Mods include: TC IC & VAM, SVO PE, Bosch bypass valve. That's it. I would like to personally thank everyone on this list past and present for the info. I gained 1.5 seconds in the 1/4 mile to date.

Thanks to you Dave, with the SVO PE.

The SVO PE with (the correct) vane, is a gain of more than half a second.  15.2 @ 89 mph was my best before the SVO PE & vam with just the TC IC.

"If you cant get the good stuff at a good price from you local dealer, try lookin at Dave's page.  He has some kick*ss deals on the stuff, like the wires. They list for 39, I have heard of people being quoted into the 50s, and Dave sells them for 25 shipped, I think.  That is just smokin.

You guys should really support him, he sells the Motorcraft ignition stuff for less than most of you can get it locally."

Bob Myers said...

"I just cant get the Motorcraft stuff around here for your prices. (Dealers suck)"

Gary said...

"This is by far the best turbo site with the most helpful information, I have seen on the web, yet." "I have an 88 and an 85 Turbo Coupe, and your site helped me the most."
